FAQ

May I bring my child?

Are you going to keep up with them? Then sure thing! We’re a family-friendly joint. That doesn’t mean that all our events are appropriate for or interesting to children, but you can always count on them being at most, PG-rated.  We do ask that you be a responsible parent and keep them from trashing the place, picking the landscaping, throwing the rocks, and creating “art” on our walls.  If that should happen, we will kindly return the favor with an espresso and a puppy.  No one likes poor parenting.

May I bring my dog?

We LOVE fur friends on our property. Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome in all outdoor areas. Just be sure to clean up after those lovable poop machines.

Can I bring in outside food?

So, here’s the deal. Support our businesses.  If you’re going to use our bathrooms, patio tables, and parking spaces, isn’t it a reasonable request for you to also purchase our items?  At least for part of your meal.  We wouldn’t frown on you bringing in dinner and letting us provide your dessert.  We do hope that our food and beverages are a big part of why you come.  If they aren’t, please let us know.  We need to tweak some things.

Can I do a private event?

Of course! Birthday parties, corporate events, baby and bridal showers — whatever you are celebrating, we’ve got you. Our Conflux building accommodates up to 40 and rents for $300 per 4-hour block.  Contact: conflux@queenbeecoffee.com for more specific info and availability.

What about parking?

We have that too! But only for you and 6 of your closest friends.  If those spots behind our shop are taken, you will indeed have to walk.  But! You will be happy to know that you are free to park in the lot at First Baptist Church or on any of the side streets around A Dozen Doors.  Mind the meters!  They take that junk seriously in this town.  If you’re  just popping in for a take out order, there is a 5 minute spot right outside the Queen Bee Kitchen.  You do need to know we watch from the window.  Don’t think you can park there just because, “there were no other spots.”  We highly encourage walking- and we think we are worth it.

How can I find out what is going on and when?

We stay pretty active on our social media platforms.  Check FB and IG for the most up-to-date information.  OR you can frequent our shop on the daily.  You’re sure to be in the know that way.

How can I sing or play at A Dozen Doors?

Shoot us an email.  We are always looking for new talent around here.  We would be happy to add you to the list.

Can I bring my own chairs?

Yes!  Or picnic blankets!  Or move our tables to the lawn- just move them back when you are done.  That’s just being a good neighbor.

What’s up with Family First?

So, in 2013 when we opened Queen Bee, we had 3 middle/ high school kids.  We set aside the first Friday of each month to just be a family.  Running a small business is hard y’all!  We wanted them to know that they were still our priority in the midst of a growing business.  Now, years later, with grown children, we still take this one night each month to focus on time spent as a family.  Sorry, not sorry, if you came and we were closed. We’ll make you waffles on the following Saturday.  Won’t that suffice?

What is POPS?

POPS stands for Performing  On The Patio Saturday.  It happens on the second Saturday of each month.  It’s sort of our “open mic” night.  We host 4, thirty minute acts beginning at 7pm.  If you don’t like what you hear, just wait 30 minutes- it will change.  You definitely need to bring a chair to this event.  The patio fills up fast!  And this is of course, weather permitting.  We don’t reschedule.  We cry a little then move on.  There is always something fun going on here so it really isn’t a biggie.

So when ARE y’all open?

WE ARE ALWAYS CLOSED ON SUNDAYS AND MONDAYS.  No matter how aggressively you shake our front door on a Monday, IT WILL NOT OPEN. The door is fine.  WE ARE JUST CLOSED! Tuesday- Thursday 7-7.  Friday 7-9.  Saturday 9-9.  We close at 5:30 on the first Friday of every month.  (And the week of Memorial Day.)  (And at some point between Christmas and New Years.)
