Go outside & play!
The Yard is the space that brings us all together. In the space between The Old Bus Station, Conflux, Queen Bee Coffee, and the Field House, we are fortunate enough to have an escape inside the city. This is our grassed area where we run and play and do what communities do best… connect! In this space you will find McDonough-ians hanging out and enjoying the life we all love in South Atlanta. There is cornhole space and room for a Frisbee toss or even a football pass or two. We have regular events in this space throughout the year – Maker’s Markets, outdoor music, Cinema Under the Stars and the annual Christmas showing of It’s a Wonderful Life! (That’s ALWAYS the 1st Friday in December so make plans now not to miss it!)
What is The Maker’s Market? That’s a fair question. Thanks for asking…
I’ll tell you now that you’ve asked. We started Queen Bee Coffee at a small local market. We sold our first bag of coffee in July 2012 on a borrowed folding table set up under a borrowed pop-up tent. That’s where this all began. As we grew, we realized we wanted to help others grow so the idea of a Maker’s Market was born. We hold this event a few times a year to showcase our local artisans. These are folks who are looking to grow their company into more. We get excited thinking we could play a small part in someone else’s story of success.
If you’re wondering when the next few Maker’s Markets are scheduled, you can check out this calendar for the latest Events at A Dozen Doors / Queen Bee Coffee.
